Ordered Tonneau Cover...but.......

Okay.....I just ordered a soft tonneau for my 2002 L from Gillespie Ford in texas via the internet. Talked to a guy named Mike...very nice guy. Anyway, I specifically requested the snapless Ford cover and he said he has some tonneau covers from Ford Motorsport that are snapless and he could send me one for $224 plus shipping. I said okay but I am now wondering if this cover is a quality piece! Is it the same as the factory one? Anybody have any familiarity with this one? help!

ummmm I went to the ford dealership here in GA
they had one cover that didn't say if it had snaps or not for like 220. he first said thats the only cover they sold that didn't have a harley image on it. Then after talking with a guy that worked that and had a L he found the original snapless cover that comes on our trucks in the Ford Motorsports book.
He said with tax and everything it would be $408..... ouch!!
So I placed an add here in the classifieds and got several replies form guys selling there stock cover (most were like new and one was even taken off the day he bought his truck so you could say it was brand new.. anyway they all wanted 100 plus 15 bucks shipping. Thats the best way to go if you ask me.
Also there was a guy saleing a silver snuglid (new) for 550 plus shipping form texas here in the classifieds.. I wish I could have swung that, not sure if its still forsale or not now...
Either way you decide to go enjoy your cover, I love mine! The bedrug makes it look and work even better

Jeff Savage,

Sorry it took so long.....

Go to www.fordparts.net ....call the 800 number listed and ask for Mike.

I will let you know how the cover is when I get one.

For what its worth:

I am having Ford warranty my factory soft tonneau because of the curling ends. Anyway they called me yesterday, and said that I need to come by and have them look at it, because the parts guy says there is 6 different soft covers . I find that hard to believe, because I told him it was the factory cover on a Lightning. But thats what I was told.
