Ford does not offer the X Plan on SVT vehicles, that's why it is not on there. The individual dealer can sell SVT vehicles under the X Plan though, it's up to them.

Under the forddirect.com link on my webpage is a link to my technique to finding a dealer to sell a SVT vehicle under the X Plan.

Fast Service Hylandr

You're up early this morning since you're an hour earlier than Atlanta time! After reading these boards for a long time I've seen a lot of conflicting information on Xplan. You do seem to be well informed. Does dealer HAVE to sell all vehicles approved at forddirect.com if customer have pin number, but ONLY if dealer chooses will they sell SVT at Xplan? Is dealer's net cost lowered/affected at all if vehicle sold under X,A plans, etc.? Thanks again! BTW I did read your post on methodology of finding dealer to sell at xplan.

I'm in the Army, LOL

The dealer does not have to sell ANYTHING under the X-Plan. I'm not sure if there net cost is lowered by it ... I doubt it though.

Hylandr, you must be working

"graveyard" shift, so will be off shortly? Many years ago I was USAF O2 in 'Nam. So how did you come by all your info about ford plans since you're not in the industry? Since I have approximate Xplan cost for L, do you happen to know xplan on cobra coupe & vert? We all thank you for your help!

Nope, just woke up for PT

Just did alot of research and asked some smart people before I bought my truck. I've also bought a few vehicles on the X-Plan now.

I'm not sure what the Cobra X-Plan price is, but I remember seeing it on one of the boards before...If you do a search on this site, someone probably mentioned what it was.

We all thank you for your help!
It's my pleasure

Hmmmm, at least in the military, we call it "integrity." Doing what is right. Not doing what you can do, but doing the right thing. Ford has offered a rebate to it's employees because they deserve a "break in price" for the very product that they produce. Ford takes great pains to insure that it is not abused, but people like this not only abuse it, but take pride in it and want to spread the abuse... they just don't get it. Not only do they abuse it, but they offer it to others with no sham!! How will you feel if Ford cancels the X-plan because of abuses like this... I tell you what, go to a Ford sponsored event and meet a Ford factory worker. The one who spends 40 hrs a week on the factory line, and brag to him/her how you got the exact same benefit (for nothing) that they get for working their *** off every day of every week. See if they share in your "joy" in taking advantage of the X plan!! I myself would love to get on the X plan, but I don't deserve it because I don't work for Ford. Especially after 9-11, does'nt anyone have integrity anymore!!

While I agree in what you are saying.....isn't integrity a two way street? Dealers marking up Lightning's and Cobra's by as much as $5000 isn't what I would call integrity.
When I bought my 99 in march of 99, dealers where asking and getting between 3K and 5K OVER list price. I was fortunate enough to purchase my 99 for sticker.
Fast forward to March of 01, Iam trading in my 99 for a 01. The dealer informs me that I owe 5K over what they, the dealer, are willing to give me. INTEGRITY?
What happened to the sales pitch...value-exclusivity-performance

1) Value.... well I know about depreciation
2)Exclusivity.....making 4K a year OK....making all that will sell, not OK {Atleast not in my book}
3)Performance.....No arugment on my behalf

So what Iam trying to say, if I can buy my next Lightning on a X-plan and not be a Ford employee, I will not hesitate to do so.
And the next day I can look in the mirror and KNOW my integrity is still in place..........just my .02 worth

If you would like a lesson on integrity, shoot me an e-mail...but until you know what you are talking about, give it a rest.

Ford has offered a rebate to it's employees because they deserve a "break in price" for the very product that they produce.
You are correct, and they have a "plan" for that...this is the X-Plan...it's not for Ford employees.

Ford takes great pains to insure that it is not abused
Like I said, you are shooting your mouth off and you actually have no clue. Read the memo that goes with the form...tell ya what...I'll do it for ya...it says you MAY pass it along to other people!!!

I myself would love to get on the X plan, but I don't deserve it
You are certainly correct here!!!

Especially after 9-11, does'nt anyone have integrity anymore!!
I'm not even gonna touch this one

JagcLightning - If you would like to discuss this further, please send me an e-mail at TheHylandr@aol.com I'd love to talk about integrity with you.

Before you go off the deep end read the forms. I would have NEVER made this sticky if there were any issues. The forms clearly state that investor relations is looking to offer a deal to ANYONE who asks...

In addition, you may pass this information on to a friend, neighbor or extended family member - especially one who doesn't presently drive one of our vehicles.
The X plan is NOT the exact same benefit as the employee plans A plan and others. Ford employees work hard and get better benefits than what we are discussing here. The X plan is also avail thru the EAA - Experimental Aircraft association. You sign up with EAA and you get 2 X plan pins a year. So you can see X plan is more like a discount offered to many "Friends of Ford".

Pisses me off when underinformed people launch into a tirade and throw in 9-11 for emphasis....

I want to thank you for the first time I got the x-plan from your info. I just bought my wife an '03 Eddie Bauer Expy last month with it. You saved me $4,709.88!
The night before I was ready to buy I emailed 4 local dealers who had the vehicle equiped how I wanted it. In each email I told them that I was buying the next day at 1 PM, I had a check in hand, an X-plan pin and that the dealer that could deliver would get my business. They all called and one offered a $100 coupon and to wave the $150! I told him I would be there at 1 PM. I also used www.Peoplefirst.com had check in hand and received a great price.
The whole transaction took less than an hour. I bought my Lightning the same way, quick and easy with no dealer bullsh$t.
I will thank you in advance for this one. What shall I ad to the stable now?

Eric
