Question On topic, but an old topic, Brakes

Anything new out there?

I know about Brembos, fronts only for $3.5K
I know that there are some slotted and dimped rotors.

Best pads for street and some track?
I have the Raybestos ceramics and they blue the rotors
with any hard repeated stops from ~100 mph.

Thinking of a change, any suggestions?

Some of the 'blueing' could be from what the pads make up is.I know that if it has a lot of carbon in it it will blue the rotors. If you change to a pad that does not have carbon in it I know that you will have less than ideal braking untill the carbon that is deposited on the rotor is worn off.stan

Not sure how much carbon is in the ceramic formulation,
but I am pretty sure it is heat induced blueing as these pads seem to fade badly.

Hey, both Wilwood and Baer make kits for our trucks. I have no details on the Wilwood kit.

The Baer kit has 14" (unsure of the thickness, I think 1½") front rotors, and 6-piston calipers. This, too, is a front-only kit, and goes for about $2500.

However, Baer DOES offer a rear kit for our trucks.
Check it out on http://www.baer.com.

I checked out the rear kit looks like OE equipment, no calipers, just a solid disc.

What do the F-350s or larger have on them for brakes?
I'm thinking like a SVT engineer now.
What can I steal from the standard parts bin?

NOTHING that will bolt on.After market is about it. I have made a few rear set ups from the 350 rears but its a pia! have to remake bracketsparking brake problems then you get into the ft to rear bais issues.Stan
