Wont idle or run

Hey guys,

I have had a very intermitant problem with my 00, very occasionally it won't fire, when it does, it runs aweful, i.e. sputters, but barely maintains 500-600rpm. give it any gas and it stalls. I pulled 3 plugs and all looked good (well aside from a tad rich from where i've tried to get it running)

Chip is currently out and made no differance. Checked oil fine, and no water, checked water and no oil or bubbles.

What giveS?? CHecked EGR and looks fine.

Brandon

PS haven't run codes yet)

Hmmmmmmm.... How many miles on your fuel filter? That's suspect number 'one' for me.

Check your MAF sensor and all the tubes going to your intake boot.

before you go to the dealer

start you truck and run it. Go around an pull the wire off each coil pack 1 at a time (do this while the engine is cold so you don't burn yourself on the different components, also be carfull you don't get zapped too, might want to wear rubber gloves). When you pull each wire off, listen to the engine carefully for a change. If the engine responds to pulling the wire off, that means that coil pack is working. If you pull the wire and it sounds the same, chances are you have a bad coil pack, maybe more than 1. Happened to me last week. Dealer wants130 bucks for 1, got it at napa.....it's the same thing, for 50. Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

What you described happened to me awhile back. Fuel pump went out.

Arrow F.PUMP LINES

WHAT YOU DESCRIBE SOUNDS LIKE LINES OFF FUEL PUMP INSIDE YOUR GAS TANK. i HAVE A 99 L & IT DID THE SAME THING. IT WON'T MATTER TO PULL THE TANK,CAUSE IF THE LINES ARE ALL ON,THEN IT'S PROLLY THE PUMP. THROW ALL THE CHEAP CRIMP CLAMPS AWAY & USE RING-TYPE OR BETTER.HOPE THIS HELPS.
