Tuners/others with aftermarket valvesprings?

My motor has developed a ticking noise on the driver side and i have narrowed it down to most likely being a roller lifter or one of the lifters.
My valevesprings are modmax[the new batch] and i have larger valves also.
I need advice on what to do.
1 Leave it unless it gets worse...i heard that is what ford does when this happens on any of there mod motors.
2 Replace all lifters and roller lifters on the driver side as there is no way to track down the noisy one.
In other words, you can't start the motor to find out which is making the noise with the valve cover off.
3 Other suggestions?

Actually,i told the engine builder to use the stock springs after finding out about the defective ones in the first batch.
He listened to a ford/mod motor guru that told him the stock springs would not cut it.
4k and around 50 passes later,i will be the one paying for it.

I doubt my truck will be the last though.

If you let the engine warm up good you can run the motor withe V/C off I have done it many times on 4.6s' IT WILL get oilly but will help in locating the noisy one.Stan

Thanks Stan,i figured there must be a couple of members who were not too busy reading the " Latest gossip threads" to chime in.
I will give it a listen without the v.c.
My rebuilt by magnuson m112 snout oil was all over the engine bay a couple months back...so i am getting pretty good at cleaning it.

I'm not saying mine will last forever(I hope it lasts awhile), but I have almost 6K miles on the truck in a little over a month and it sounds very good. I drive it pretty hard, but I do take care of it.

Easter, when i say mine will not be the last,i am reffering to all the different engine builders and internal parts, that in a lot of cases,we are the guinea pigs for.

Anyway,i got word that the ticking is what precedes the modmax valves breaking....so it's back to the stock springs for me.

Seems there are some bad one's in the latest batch, just like the first.

Sorry to hear that. JDM and JL both told me to use the stock valve springs and I am glad that I did...
