hard shifts.

One thing I am concerned about is that the harder shifts will result in more wear on other parts of the drivetrain, such as U-joints and differential gears... what do you guys think?
I did Gregg's valve body also , the difference being , i had Mark at LFP leave torque reduction on and left my line pressures alone, on the chip burn, i don't get 2nd gear bark, but i do get stronger shifts=just perfect not to harsh, in mine and factory tech's and others opinion turning torque reduction off enhances wear and tear on the first to second gear clutches, just my 2 cents, for what's it's worth.

Thumbs up

It's a great mod to do.

I am very pleased with Factory Tech (Greg's) valve body.

It really performs well in my truck. It's a lot better than just having the Line Mod valve installed. Hopefully less wear and tear on our tranny.

Can I ask a question? If you do this mod, do you need the line valve mod as well? And this torque reduction, is this something that is burned on the chip, or something that is set up in the FTVB?

If you have a chip, leave the transmission parameters stock. FTVB's have a modified line mod valve already installed.

Read about it here, Gregg's thoughts and buy it here. FTVB

Tim PS. Welcome to the board!!

You don't get a 2nd gear bark??? My truck is all stock except for a JL ram air and I get one heck of a 2nd gear bark? Even under half throttle some times. hmmmmm

Good Post! Thanks! I will actually be doing this fairly soon. Going to be ordering the part soon! Just in time for a post <grin>...

ResQDawg3:

No, you shouldn't need the line valve mod. I asked that earlier too They said no. Second, I think the line pressure adjustment is done in the chip.

What year is your truck?

Does Mark tune the chip in house?

I got a second hand chip for my 99L and it was supposed to be tuned by LFP, but I wound up selling it. Probrably should have just sent it back to LFP for a reburn.
