Question Stock pulley off, now???

The metco instructions call for taking off an adaptor. When I pulled the pulley off and the cage, I do not see anything else that needs to come off or that will come off. I took the center bolt out of the balancer, but nothing still seemed to move. It looks like I need to just install the metco hub now. Any help? Again, not sure if there is any other kind of adaptor or not.

The stock unit came off attached to the cage with a silver(male threaded) piece on the back. Is that all I need to take off?? Thanks.

There is a black screwed on adapter that is on the crank.

Pay no attention to that, the "adapter" is on 99-00s only. For 01, Ford cast it as part of the balancer, since the adapter bolts were coming loose on the 99-00s.

Thank you Sal, It looked like it was all attached but I am one of those idiots that reads instructions. Thanks a lot, at least I am not going crazy. Metco needs to give better destructions.

I did the same exact thing. As a matter of fact, my pulley didn't fit. I think it was made for the 99-00's. It took my close to 8 hours to install it. Nothing went right for me, and ran into plenty of problems. I spent a good couple hours sanding the inside hole down, so that it would fit.

I think Metco should update their instructions. I mean they updated at the top and included 2001-02 but they did not update throughout the instructions. It looked pretty obvious the right thing to do, but you guys all know how that goes. I also think that they should use something besides allen head bolts to bolt the pulley on. I might try something different if I take it off for any reason.

Oh, BTW, this truck really cooks now
