Don's Bolt 11's
Yep I did it, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Here are the details
First off it was real hot, the thermometer in the truck said 101 degrees most of the weekend.
I think the two things that contributed to my 11 second runs were, 1 the new hoosier 28x10-16 slicks, and 2 the new program Jim burned for me. I am sure the works blower may have helped too.
First run
60 - 1.667
1/8 - 7.649@90.03
1/4 - 12.010@114.08
So close I could taste it, I was happy with a new personal best but I wanted more
2nd run
1.634
7.645@89.40
12.059@112.93
3rd run
went up in smoke a little off the line
1.803
7.850@90.22
12.192@114.78
If I had hooked that run it would have been a 11 second run. At this point I was saying what the hell do I have to do to get this truck into the 11's.
4th run, Thanks God
60'- 1.661
1/8 - 7.621@90.45
1/4 - 11.967@114.42
I pulled up to the time slip shack, got my ticked and started to freak out. I did it, I did it, I did it.
The only thing removed was my hitch, spare tire, and tailgate. I still had the pass seat in the truck.
I didn't realize that when I pulled into the pits everyone was listining to the track anouncer, and knew what I had just done. The High 5's and hugs were flying.
The next morning it was just as hot and even more humid. I dialed in a 11.86 and knew I would have my work cut out for myself.
Here are the results
60' - 1.648
1/8 - 7.597@90.92
1/4 - 11.923@114.01
I was amazed I went even faster concidering the conditions. From there I got beat in the 2nd round of illiminations, who knows how fast I could have gone, since I had to hit the brakes to keep from breaking out, but I hit them to hard, and got nipped at the line.
All in all it was a great weekend, except some A- Hole stole one of my stock tire and wheel.

in fact, i think the tent was up against that white trailer and that is the red truck i was looking at. that must have been you i heard say "someone stole my tire"...how do you walk off with that with everyone around?

Nice socks Don, I just had to say it...
Oh, and Epping, NH New England Dragway is an IHRA Track, so you can go down to a 11.50 before you need to do a cage.

I couldn't resist the socks thing, it was too funny to me.
No traffic on the way home, averaged 85 to 95 all the way home and made it home in about half the time that it took me to get there.
I hope we will be racing together soon, but if some cooler weather arrives before I get my truck back you may become the quickest Lightning to run at Epping. Good luck and I hope you do reach all of your goals this year.
