Question Mickey Thompson ET Street Tires?

I have been hearing all of this about the nittos but I have not been to impressed. They look like they work soso. I had a street ride a few years back and Mickey Thompson had the best tire then but I have not seen them at the track. If you are running them how do they work?

I have been using them for about 2 months now,
and I like them a lot ... they hook a lot better than the
F1's (THANKS FRANK!) and I just have to learn how to
light 'em up a little better ...

If you are looking for a track tire then you need to get the mt or hoosiers period. Nitto 555R's are basically a better performing street tire for everyday use.

Thumbs up

Thanks you guys for your info. I will keep you up to date on how they do on my truck. I will be putting the traction bars on this week if I get the time and then the tires. I hope to have it up and going this weekend. I got a SS454 that has been up graded to a 502 crate motor from the guys at Chevy. He is a friend but freinds have to be put in their place also. If the Lightning will not do it I have a 64 1/2 Mustang that will.

The streets down here in S. Fl. are slick as whale snot in the rain. I'm just curious if I'd be spinning in circles every time I turned left or right...With the F-1's on the front doin their thing and grabbin the pavement with their soft compound. Followed by the MT's and their just enough tread to be street legal...Catch my drift?

Now I do

I don't think you would ever want to drive with ET Streets in the rain. They might be "technically" street legal but the tread is slim to none. Only a little slit in them is all the tread you get.

<<In a Beavis and Butthead voice>> "Huh huh...you said little slit"

All you need to do, is be caught one time in the rain with the ET Streets..........and you will never let it happen again!

Aint that the truth. Not with my Lightning but I got caught in a sudden rain storm a few years back with my Big Block Chevelle and MT's Slicks on the way to work, lets just say 360's have a whole new meaning for me now. Bought a set of Junk Yard Tires and rims for the ride home (IT'S THAT BAD)

Amen to that!! I would WALK home from the track before I drove in the rain w/ the ET streets. In the rain they are: DAN - GER - OUS
