Question 4# is on....questions though

I just put on the 4# pulley. First I want to thank Mike (FASTRNU) for getting me a GY belt! Thanks!!!
Now. How much more boost should I really see from the 4#? I see only about 3. I checked before and after the change. Is this right?
Second, I remember people talking of a noise after making a swap with pulleys, like a rattling noise, well....I have it. What is it and is it OK?
I think that is it. We'll see how I do at the track on Thurs.

Thanks
Wayne

Hey Wayne,

I had no noises at all on any of my pulley swaps. And as for the boost.....you will prolly not see 4# until fall (cooler temps). Last fall with my 4# lower on I was seeing like 13#

The noise is cavitation in the supercharger. You can get your chip reburned to cut down on it, but it will have to be a softer program. The cavitation does not cause any problems to my knowledge.

Looks like I might have to come out to Milan after all. Weather's going to be a bit warm, so I may not run but I'd like to see what you pull Wayne.

I have to take a look at my funds. I get paid once a month, so I have to be good at budgeting my money till next payday. I've probably already killed my budget for this month.

Actually, the noise is probally the tensioner, you need to break off a little metal "nub"block with a hammer and pry bar

I changed my belt and went with a 67"( alittle tighter) had to break off the nub on tensioner but tensioner doesn't bounce any more, still get intermitant minor squeeking every now and then but nothing like I had, still might be tensioner but she is running fine

I changed the belt to a 67.5" from the 66". There shouldn't be any prob. from being too tight, I hope!
Thanks

I just got the gatorback belt for my 4lb lower.I was told to get the 68"er.Will it work or will it be too loose??
I believe someone here was using it .I went this way so if I want to go with the 6lb it would still fit.
Thanks in advance for any help!

If the S/C cavitates, you are racing a submarine...
