Self Made electric fan info
Self Made electric fan info
Anyone out there bypass the tuners and build their own electric fan solution for their truck? I realize the tuners have good products as far as this is concerned, but it might be something fun to try on my own,,,, I dont get to use my engineering degree so much so I try to get as many projects as I can. Any input here??

One day I'm gonna try. But I do now some kits from other companies come with some wiring to hook up. Maybe not be as good as the tuners ones, which can do things like turn on when the truck is off. But that you could wire in yourself.
yeah,, i've done a lot of reading about relays and such. Things in question would be I dont want to pull too many amps from using it, ( some spal fans need a whopping 24 amps for use) So I'd have to get specs on the stock setup first before I consider different directions to make it better. For example I'd have to know the cfm of stock.
Right now I'm basically looking to see whats out there, and why it is.

I put a Lincoln Mark 8 fan on the Mustang I just sold. That fan can really move some air, it pulls a little over 30 Amps continuous.
Here's a website with a lot of good info, for Mustangs, but it pretty much will all apply to the L.
