Between the wife an I 215k. She's a RN, I'm and electrician. Once you take off taxes, mortgage payments, car/truck payments and kids education barely enough to buy groceries at the end of the week.

Between the wife and I, about 75K. I drive a chemical truck hauling mostly haz-mat, and she is an insurance clerk at a walk-in clinic. I was doing better last year, almost 60K my salary alone, but this economy is finally catching up to me. I guess 50K a year on four day week isn't too bad. I've worked more and made less. Besides that, she just started her new job last year and is finally getting on up the pay scale. I don't care how much you make, it's never enough.

....rolling on 25k this year as 1st year electrician apprentice.

I know, no lightning, but hell I can afford one if my insurance wasn't bad

Why in the heck is your insurance so outrageous? Been involved in any high speed chases lately? That reminds me of the time I was gonna buy an '85 Trans-Am back in 1987. The payment was 275 a month and the insurance was gonna be 260. Needless to say that was a no-go. BTW my L payment is 450 a month, and my insurance is 54 a month. I'm driving the L now for around the same price the TA would have costed me then. Go Figure.

$70,000 gross (+ per diem)

Wow, if you all are telling the truth, this is depressing. To think we went on strike over this and took all kinds of crap from the general public because "airline pilots are way over paid." I don't mean any disrespect, but this proves we earn below average wages for above average responsiblities. Well I love my job, I guess thats worth something.
