There are so many polishers out there that more info is needed. Make sure you know what you are doing because you can wreck your paint faster than you can say OH *****! (especiallly if it is a professional rotary buffer). If it is one of those typica home use buffers then they generally don't generate enough heat to cause to many problems.
Here's what I would do:
1. Wash with dish soap to remove all wax.
2. Clay bar the car.
3. Apply polish using a polish or medium texture foam pad
4. Remove polish by had or use a lot of terry cloth bonnets over a wool pad on you buffer.
5. Apply your wax with a fine foam pad
6. Remove wax like in step 4.
Now, there are a boat-load of variations or repititions that can be done. Just make sure your waxes/polishes are compatible (the easiest way to do this is stick with one line of products).
Did I forger the 12oz. curl between each step?
