Unhappy Goodyear F(lat)1

I've read some posts where people experience more tread wear on the edges, even when inflated to the proper pressure...that's what I got.

On top of that, I got a puncture near the inside edge (were its bald). Is it safe to patch a tire like that? It looks like I have plenty of miles left on these, otherwise.

...damn, I was going to attach a picture, but its disabled.

Also, what's the scoop on replacement tires? I read someone suggested Toyo 555's. What's the consensus? Anything else out there better than the F1's?

Thanks,

-Kris

Rampage,

Thanks for the heads up.

Ashenor,

Thanks for the offer. But, I guess I'd rather go for the new ones @$160.

Tach i don't blame you thats a good deal.

Would be a better deal for someone in MI on mine where they did not have to pay shipping. Mine are still brand new, **** are still on.

Good luck

Fast Gator,

Are you joking, or is there a new compound...sorry to be thick headed, I've just not been keeping up on all the discussions.

When the L first came out, the 99 and the 00 had an older compound Goodyears F-1's.
When Ford came out with the 01's Goodyear changed the compound to a sticker tire

Turns out they're the old compound.

So how much better is the new than the old. I have a '01, so I've never had the old compound on there.

Anyone with 99/00's traded up to the new compound, and found a big difference?

Thanks,

-Kris

F1's have been available for $195 or less for years... Tire Rack is a Sponsor of F150 online .. ( unlike http://www.blueovalperformance.com ) they have them for $182 which is less than blueoval at $194 AND Tire rack helps keep this sites lights on.... Click the tire rack banner ad above

Does anyone know how to determine which compound the F1's are made of?..some kind of code stamped in the sidewall? maybe by the date code?

Thanks,

-Kris
