Help on Tranny?

I just installed a Monster Box by myself this morning and I put About 4 quarts in the converter and about 7 in the fill tube. Is this enough? And how long does the truck need to run before I can tell how much fluid is in and if needs more. I'm just carefull not wanting to run it dry. It has a stock pan , I belive is what Gregg sent it with.

Thanks Tim

Its a 4x4 pan then.

Thats good for now, now if you still have it up on jack stands what I do it go threw the gears with the truck up in the air. Start in first and then just let it run, don't give it any gas for now. then shift to second after about 30 seconds, and then go to 3rd gear and then turn the OD off after that with about 30 seconds in between. Then go to reverse and let is run like that, and go to nutetral, then to Drive.

Basically you want to cover all the gears and give the fluid time to get in all the small knooks and cranny's of the tranny. Your going to probably chack and fill with more fluid about 5 to 6 times before you get it just right. Just be patient and don't over fill it and your going to love you new tranny!!!!

once you get the fluid to a happy spot, lower the truck and take it for a ride and then check it again.

Thumbs up

Thanks man, great advice. I will do that now. It took me 6 hrs to install that baby, and don't want nothing to go wrong.
