Unhappy Not a good night at the track!!!

I could not get the truck to hook at all!!
We finally had a night of good air 76 degrees and almost no humidity!
I had run 12.89 @ 109 on this track last fall in the same conditions.
Last night I could not hook up at all. Things were so bad that while attempting to feather the throttle to stop the wheel spin
on my 2 runs the truck shifted in second gear before I made the
60' beam!! I still managed a 2nd and 3rd gear 1/4 mile of 13.40 at 107 mph!! The truck was making gobs of power.
Do you guys think the power cooler is making this difference in low end power? It is the only thing that has been added recently.
Slicks have become a must and have been ordered!!
Nitrous install will be complete by the next trip to the track!!

last nights set up
2001 Lightning
JLP Powercooler
JLP air intake
Diablo custom chip
JLP 4 lb lower
boost bypass
NGK's
breather
Bassani cat backs
Factory Tech valve body
F1's at 20 psi

HELP WITH TRACTION! all suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Jim

I have the same problem ... I think it's too much power
for the F1's ... So I got MT E/T Streets ... Now I have to learn all
over again ... We had 85 degrees last night. My best run was
a 13.30 with a 2.00 60' time. But the track was slick
and everyone else said they were running about .2 slow
because of it ...

Slicks and Jay Lincoln's Truck Traks will help--a lot!

From: On the side of the Road attempting to explain 135 miles per hour
another vote for traction bars.

**note**

if you run drag radials or slicks without something to prevent axle wrap (read: traction bars), be ready for the driveshaft to snap.

Firefighter, Traction bars and slicks will help. Truck-Traks are a great street/strip setup.

Several Lightning owners out here have switched to 28" tall Hoosiers and have had pretty good success on our slippery tracks.

rea-rend clutch packs?

How long do you guys think the clutch packs will last , when you convert to slicks?= i have read allot of post's stating after using slicks for a time the limited slip is shot on one side or the other= toasted the clutch pack> any input?

Mike,

I am now in my third year of running with 15" Slicks, No Problems.
I have not seen any posts regarding clutch pack failure due to Slicks, only to getting into the gas around corners.
