I will be ordering a 2003 Lightning in the next couple of weeks. I need to do some research on where I can get the best deal. Any suggestions on where to search the web to get dealers prices? I've read this forum and see members say they pay below sticker. The ford Dealer I have used for other vehicles is an SVT dealer but wants $500 over sticker. Any suggestions or tips on dealers in Florida or web site that could help would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you where to find a good deal, but here's the numbers, the sticker on a lightning is around 32,600 give or take a few hundred bucks.

The dealership pays about $28,000 for the truck and then ford pays them a "holdback" when they sell it, probably around $800 bucks or so.

anybody should be able to walk into a dealership and negotiate with them based on this info. you could try to split the difference with them. Offer to buy the truck from them for $30,000 even.

they are still making several thousand dollars profit on the sale.

and you are saving several thousand dollars under sticker price.

a good deal for both parties.

NEVER PAY OVER STICKER PRICE!!! if a dealer tries to charge you this just walk away, there is a FORD dealership (or 5) in every city in america,you are not bound to dealing with just one, you can go elsewhere.

also do a search and see if you can join an organization and get an X-plan pin number. this will get you a truck for around or slightly below the invoice price.

Call 1-800 fordsvt and get a list of dealers within say 100 miles of you. Start calling around and working one against the other to get a lower price. Say "this dealer will give it to me for $32,000. Can you beat that price?" Keep doing this until you end up with the lowest price. Or you can even call dealers in other states and see if they will "drop ship" the L to a dealer close to you. They may charge you $500 to do this, but it could save you thousands. Hope this helps. Tom

 

Thanks for the assistance. I've found some available 02 Lightnings and since SVT said I wouldn't see an 03 until Dec I may get an 02. So far I've only found them at sticker but I'll keep trying.
