Traction Bars Install

I will be putting my Stainless Steel traction bars on next week. Do I haev to use a drive on hoist or will the suspension line up fine with a lift hoist?

Worked fine for me just using jack stands. Took off the rear wheels for clear access and I was all set to install the brackets. Only semi difficult part is drilling the frame for the front brackets,,, as in not much space to fit the drill in there. Just make sure you get the holes lined up right and use wd40 to cool your drill bit while drilling,,, will cut through the frame like butter

as Mt. Toast stated, drilling the frame is trickey. A Cobalt drill bit sure helps too...

Also. BE CAREFUL DRILLING THE DRIVER'S SIDE as the fuel lines are on the inside of the frame rail near where you'll be drilling..

How much does the traction bars help. And who makes the best for the $.

Traction Bars

Traction bars will help lower your 60 ft. times and your overall ET, but the best thing will be prevention of axle wrap which can bust your driveshaft. I use JDM's full lenth (58 in.) bars and have recorded 1.66 60 ft. times. They are pricey but worth every penny, John H.
