If they were gonna show it why didn't the show some decent cars. When I was in San Mateo a few years ago the racing scene was off the hook and I'm talking 9 second cars TRAILERED to the street races. Street racing is silly, but it happens and you are taping it so tape some cool cars....

BTW-Where was the NOS,not one car that ran had NOS,I thought they ALL had NOS.Sorry I just like saying NOSSSSS!!!!.

The reason you didnt see any "nice" cars racing is because mtv made a mistake when they titled the show the real title was "I am A Street Ricer" *shrugs* maybe next time they will get it right

I thought it was pretty entertaining. They don't race on a track, because there's no tracks around.... they mention that about 2 or 3 times in the show.
Street Racing is dumb... everyone knows that, and the end of the show set out to show that. Making fun of the street racing is alright, but making fun of the cars is just closed minded.
Remeber, not everyone has $30,000 to spend on a car... these guys are taking a freaking CIVIC , and turning it into something fast. Sure, it's not as fast as your $30,000 truck that you spent a couple thousand more to modify, but it is fast. Give them some credit... at least for what they did to their cars.
To paraphrase something said here many times... any schmuck can spend enough money and get a fast car... Maybe I just don't understand why everyone here dogs the pumped up imports. 13 seconds is fast for a civic that runs something like 16 or 17 (?) stock

 

You are right im sorry to all of those who i have offended i didnt mean to upset any of the "racers" with thier high pitched farting exhaust system. And the "cool" paint jobs.

It scared me even though I didnt see the whole thing. I didn't pay attention to the cars and what their mods were, but I did listen to the message. Not to street race. It is very dangerous, and selfish. I don't want to put my family and friends through any pain I can avoid causing them. It's too big of a risk and I won't be taking it. It's not worth putting myself and others in danger to see who can get up to (example) 100 mph faster on a street, with pedestrains, and other cars, with police, or where an animal could run across the road, a tire blow, a driveshaft drop, anything. Ridicule me if you want, but I it made a huge impact on me. Im not going to do that to my family.

I dont know where you live but around where i live they throw 30 grand plus into those POS ricers. I knew this one kid had a Civic hatch back he spent over 10 grand just to make he thing from an automatic to stick . So the sticker of the car my not be as much as our trucks but they throw more then the sticker of our trucks into some of those ricers. They make me laugh to i saw this VW Golf yesterday that had a sticker on it that was on an angle that took up the whole side of the car WTF. Dont even get me started on those annoying lawnmower exhaust.

I thought there message was BS They say Street Racing can ruin a familly if you die when doing it but they failed to say how many people die every day in just auto accidents in general. They say its silly to die while racing but its even more silly to die just sitting at a intersection waiting for a light and some dude slams into you. You can die doing anything and I would rather die doing something I enjoy if its out at the track or a high speed blast down the highway late at night. I see most these little street racing kids out on a Friday night and one thing that scares me is there lack of driving skill. It was a dumb show in general.
