Angry ATTN All Phoenix "L" owners!!!

Just a word of warning, if you happen to see a cheap bunch of Lightning parts for sale anywhere, DO NOT BUY!!!

My 2000 Lightning was just stolen from right under my nose!!!

I had a couple come out and look at it, and go for a test drive, and well, they still aren't back!

Funny thing is, I was sooooooo gullible.

It's always the little things you over look until it's too late.

Calls from a "private" cell number and a "town" he is coming from.
Wearing non-descript clothing.
Same with the "wife" that was with him (Didn't think to look for a ring)
Asked if it had an alarm system. (probably asking if it had a Low Jack system)
He pulled up in a 968 porsche, I'm sure stolen since I noticed later it doesn't have a plate.
Have an officer outside checking it out now.

Sooo, hindsight, if any one of you EVER let someone test drive your vehicle, make sure you get a license, or I.D., or something, and a full name, and a phone number!!!

I never thought to ask for things like that.

Woo Hoo, fun night!!

Update, Yes of course the car was stolen...

Unhappy

Oh Man Drk....THAT SUCKS! Anything special about the truck so that we know what we should keep an eye out for? Vanity tags or decals? That is crazy. I'm so sorry. I'll post this on every other Phoenix board I post on...Hope they find it soon.

Thanks for your help.

Actually we were selling it anyways, so we're kinda hoping it doesn't get found.

Plus I don't know that I would want it back after someone else took a joy ride in it, and if they strip it, I will absolutely refuse to get it back...

Just an FYI, the guy was about 5-11 with jet black short spiky hair, a little stocky, probably 240 or so. He looked to be 30ish.

The woman was kinda trashy looking, had long dirty blonde hair in a pony tail, was about 5-2 and maybe 125 or so.
She had a barbed wiretatoo around her right arm.

They were both caucasions. BTW, these two were very confident, and knew what they were doing. Turns out the Porsche was stolen in April! So more than likely they do this for a living.
Keep your eyes peeled if you let anyone test drive your vehicles...!

I will try and get the Vin number and post it, so it can be identified if parts are being sold.

The only thing it had from the outside was I had the MGW trailer hitch plug, and he didn't have the key to take the pin out.

But that is as easy as unbolting the hitch assy.

It had a bedliner and darker than normal tint.

Thanks for any help with this!

Angry Bummer!

That sucks!

If you want, you can PM me with pertinate details (VIN, mileage, etc) and I can post it to other dealers here in So AZ--if the a-hole tries to trade it, we can nail him to a stake.

Message to all: If you are selling private party, a couple of tips:
1) NEVER have the people meet you at your home; it is better to pick a public place, or at least at your place of work.
2) ALWAYS collect drivers license information before letting anyone drive your vehicle. You can be considered responsible for any damage to others if the person driving injures someone else!
3) NEVER collect a personal check unless you are willing to go to the bank and cash it---immediately!

Word to the wise

Sorry to hear that Dark. We'll keep our eyes peeled for it. If we find the guy, do we have to wait for you to get there, or can we start beating the crap out of him immediately?

BTW, if it matters, the VIN is as follows...

2FTZF0732YCA91282

The truck is black, and has 13000 + miles on the motor.

So if anyone comes across a motor, check the VIN, it may be hot...!

License plate number is 366-FTF

Thanks, and hopefully I'll have another some day!!
