Electric Fan Install Vibration

I installed my JDM electric fan today and when the fan turns on I feel a vibration throughout the truck. It's not real bad but it IS there. Has anybody else noticed a vibration coming from their fan? Think it could be out of balance?

I must say that the kit is first class and really moves some air.

fans

I put one in mine a couple weeks ago and love it . no vibrations though, mine actually runs smoother, less vibration through the wheel and pedal. I doubt it is your fan but I wouldn't rule anything out. pull the fan out and spin it by hand and check each blade for deformities. I'd even call or e-mail jdm, they have been pretty helpfull to me.

The vibration that I'm feeling is all through the truck. I can especially feel it in the seat. Like I said, it's not too bad but a little annoying.

Tim,

It was great to meet you in Bristol.
Hope you had a great time.
We have had over the past year two fan blades that were out of balance.
If you think that was the cast I will send you out another one.
Just go over all bolts on the fan shroud to make sure they are tight.

Hope this helps

i'll be finishing my install tomorrow moring (my 5/16 allen head was missing from the damn box, had to run out to sears). Hope mine is ok but if anything is wierd, i'll post it up.

Jim, thanks to you and your crew for shipping that out so quick, especially just returning from FFW. That was a great deal you offered, couldn't resist to take advantage.

I talked to Kyle about having a 2lb pulley installed and my chip burned for it at FFW in NH, i'll give you guys a call earley next week.

Jim,

It was nice to finally meet you too Jim. I had a good time but left too early, should have went to the motel room and chilled a little before making the decision to leave. Be that as it was, I still had a good time and appreciate your professionalism and Shawn's expert installation and public relation skills.... You got to love a guy with a sense of humor.

I'll check all the bolts and if I feel like it's out of balance I'll call you.

The installation was a little time consuming but not hard at all. Nice instructions always help but I had a different wiring harness than what was pictured in the instructions. I figure you must have revised the harness without revising the instructions.

All in all, it's a great kit that you put together, thanks. The most discerning eye couldn't tell it's not a factory fan.

i agree about the instructions

Here are some revisions for the instructions.

First...with the new harness, you hand install the plug to the fan then wire tie the harness. You must actually do it backwards, work from the relays down to the plug, which i'm sure your aware of.

Also, i didn't have two relays in the fuse box for the key on wires, so i needed a spade termainal, which wasn't with the harness or kit, and didn't have one in my house. So i jerry riged it enough to drive to get one.
