Where besides the dealer can they be purchased cheap? and how much on average do they run? Also do they only come in a set or individually?

Thanks

I called Julie @ JDM the other day to order some coil packs. She said they are double of what they use to be. (was $23-24 a piece) I asked her what happened and she said their distributor doubled his price. I would try calling the dealership first.

Amen

If it's a ford part, he's the cheapest. Great service as well.

Ricky,

Ask Travis what the coil packs cost us from Tommie Vaughn, it wasn't cheap. Afterwards we found out JDM sold them cheaper but we needed them right away for FFW here in Houston.

See ya next month.....

Now just where is Hutto, Texas!!??

Is there a sure way to tell if a coil pack has going bad? Is there anyway a tech can troubleshoot which ones are good and which is the bad apple out of the bunch? I'd hate to buy all 8 and lonly need one... Fordpartsonline sells them for 50 bucks. Also are each coil pack spark plug specific??

Thanks!

Let's see...

They started out with one coil ($10) and a distributor.

Then went to HEI -- can't even guess at the price.

Now one coil per each plug.

And that's better? Really? Is there something really magic about electric sparks that's changed in the past few years to command $800 for a set of coils?

Talking Try here first

If I was you Id check Ignition Solutions. A while back before I got my MSD Stacker I was told about them from a friend of mine and i ask them about coils. They dont make stock coils, They make modified coils that increase the spark in each cylinder. Kinda like if you put a Blaster coil from the MSD 6AL on top of each cylinder. They said that They were in the process of design (4 months ago) so perhaps there done. If so let me know because I will be the first to try again (Like the Stacker). The stacker made some pretty significant gains and Id love to up the anty a little more. Its worth a try.

Ummh, No One Seems To Know?

If the coil pack is bad wouldn't a resistance test between a good and bad show some difference?
