I use 10w30 in my 02 Lightning and havn`t had any problems, I noticed that my truck idles smoother and is a little quieter. It`s my opinion that 5w20 oil that ford uses in these motors is to thin for the power and heat that these motors put out.

As I said, this is just my opinion.
