Question '02 L or wait for the '03's

First off, I get A-Plan, and already have a dealer more than willing to sell me an L at A-Plan...

So the question is, with the rumor of a possible split seat option/center console...

Should I wait and get an '03 with those hidious rims...

or simply get a '02 and do the center console/TAMPASVT mod?

Seems either way I'll be putting out some cash, either in the console, or '02 rims.

No other engine or suspension changes planned?

Thanks!

If I were you, I'd make my decision by what color I wanted. If you want sonic blue or shadow grey, wait.
If not buy now. I don't think they're going to have a center console. That bench seat comes in handy way to often...

I say get the 2003 so you can sell me those rims. The rims will grow on everyone, just like the 01-02 rims did.

Not sure where you heard that there will be a center console option..the info on the 2003 was released already..and there is no mention of that.

I'm in pretty good with my sales guy, and was allowed to hang out and listen to a conversation in which the Ford Corp. Regional "someting-or-other" was there and mentioned that it is seriouslly being considered as an option.

The 2002 already has a years depreciation on it. Since you are buying both at the same price (give or take a hand full of dollars) you would be financially better off with the 2003.

I also am finding that they are cutting back on the # of 2003 Ls. Every dealer I have called in CA (~10) all have their allotments cut nearly in half. They are also much more difficult to get to budge on the price or sell on xplan. This MAY lead to the 2003 holding its value a bit better...but then again those wheels will probably counter that .

Haven't seen them but once yet but I'd be inclined to trade you my 02 rims - perfect only 2000 mi. for the new ones. Why didn't they chrome them anyway? Shame on FORD

No offense to your freinds, but the dealer is the last to know anything...regional reps are the 2nd to last.

Yeah, the wife drives the HD... I currently have a Mustang GT and a '03 Cobra on order. But the HD has spoiled me! I love the room, view and ride... so now I think it's going to be an L for me.

Besides, the HD can use the parts I take off the L

anyway, are you still gonna get that cobra in your sig if you get the L?
