Shift kit question

Are there differences in shift kits/line valve mods? What are the purposes and cost of these? I'm personally getting whiplash everytime I hit WOT and looking for something to ease the jerk.

Then just get your chip reburnt for less line pressure. All the shift kits do the same thing.
