I got no lights...

in the dash. The idiots lights all come when the truck starts and the odometer and clock work but my speedometer\tach\fuel and boost guages do not light up. Two things might be related to this:

1. I had to do the ole disconnect negative, turn on lights for a half hour, plug back the boost dump wire, turn off lights, reconnect battery to clear the SES light.

2. Fri I got caught in a torrential downpour and my clock and odometer started flickering a little but I my guages were lit.

Any suggestions before I start checking fuses and call the dealer. Thanx

Have you checked to make sure you didn't accidently dim the dash lights? Start from the basics. If that isn't it, check the fuse. Pull the battery for ½ hour.

no lights

I've had a problem in my lightning with my lights before also. but mine was the headlights, they quit working all together except the flash to pass on the worked when you pulled back on the signal lever. fortunetly I have some mechanical back ground and I also work at the ford wixom plant building lincolns, so I know our wiring harnesses come from mexico (sad but true, nafta sucks) . anyway I traced it down to a bad harness in the steering column. the harness plug was bad, the wire running into the back of the plug was backing out and not making the connection any more. It could be that simple, but if you don't know what you are doing just check the fuses. If that isn't it let the dealer warranty it. I just don't like anyone touching my baby if it can be avoided.
good luck
mike

It turns out I had a bad fuse so I changed it. Drove normally and the moment I WOT'ed the L, the fuse blew again. I am going to take the chip out tomorrow and see if it blows the fuse without it. Anyone experience this?

Could be a loose headlight wire grounding out on the body. When you step on the gas the wire might shift and hit it. Just a thought. Have fun tracking it down.

I had this same thing happen to me. I took it in and Ford had to replace the instrument cluster completely. Now I haven't had any problems.
