Angry Billtech suspension lowering kit

I've had my Billtech lowering suspension kit on for about 4 months now. The handling wasn't too bad for the first 3 months. Now my ride is very sloppy through the turns and curves. Last night I was going through an often traveled curve and felt the back in slipping badly. At the speed i was traveling, this has never happened before. Also over bumps the truck is swaying and the steering wheel has a lot of play in it. I have the Billtech lowering springs, short shocks, and shackles in the back. I don't know whether it may be the springs or the shocks that are causing the problem..The stiffness of my handling sucks! I would like to find a short shock or maybe spings if thats the case, that would be better or comparable to stock. Biltechs 3/4 drop kit

Is anyone else with the biltech suspension experiencing this?

BTW..Is the Biltech suspension a performance upgrade or for lowering show purposes only??

Thanks!

The shackles are for show purposes. Because the leaf is now attached farther from the hanger, there is more play - the frame can move more independently for the rear axle.

The front coils I'm not sure of. Every application (1/4, autoX, track) has an optimal spring rate. Every spring rate has it's optimal damping rate (shock). The trends say stiffer springs are for higher performance. Stocks coils for the L are in the 650 lbs/in.

Don't forget the endlinks. They need to be adjusted with any drop for the anti-sway bars to work best. This may help with your handling.

I'd have to ask the following for decreased handling.

1) Are your tires worn out?
2) Is your lower control arm riding on your front bumpstop?
3) Are your shocks worn out?

Get your endlinks changed if you have not yet. I know what you mean about the L bouncing around alot on bumps. I am about to change shocks. My kidneys are getting a beating..

What kind of shocks are you using?? That can make a huge difference in handling as well.

The Belltech ones are junk. So I have heard form other people that have had them.

Doetsch tech Shocks from http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/Doe...ech_shocks.html
or you can call them
1-800-876-6226

Part Numbers
4069G Front
4112G Rear

They may also have the adjustable ones, but haven't checked into it yet.

Make sure you tell them these are the shocks you want! don't let them make you get differnet ones like they told me.
