Thumbs up Talk about generosity!!

OK. Story goes like this. I post two weeks ago inquiring about bedliners. Get some feedback. Consensus was to go with the Bedrug. I go ahead and order one. (Thanks, Tim!) Then I post again regarding soft Tounneu Cover prices. Get a few responses.

The day I posted the question, I get an email on AOL. It's from a man from NC named William. He says I no longer own my L. You can have my Tounneu cover. I'm thinking it's too good to be true. Long story short, we correspond back and forth a few times. He says he'll get prices for the shipping. Then he says the rails may me a bit of a pain to mail. I said..don't worry about it if it turns out to be too much trouble. He emails back....ok..I'll get a quote next week and let you know. Again..I say not to go to too much trouble. Then bam. I get an email this past Monday from him saying that everything was shipped and not to worry about the shipping costs!! Needless to say I was more grateful than I can even convey. He absolutely would not take anything for the cover. Wouldn't let me pay the shipping. Nada. And check this out..two boxes show up. One with the rails..the other with the cover..AND his SVT bra!! Amazing. And all the time he's refusing to let me reimburse him, I'm thinking..ahh..no problem. I'll just get his return address from the boxes and mail him a check made out to cash. He mailed the stuff from Staples!! With a Staples return address!! What a guy.

Well..if you read this William..thank you very sincerely. What you did was a very kind and generous gesture and hopefully one day I will be able to return the favor.

ps. he did ask one favor...he's selling a set of Boyd Coddington rims and asked if I would put out the word. I posted them here in the classifieds. he said someone in TX may be interested, but if that falls through and anyone here is interested, here's a link. This is not a shameless plug...I just want to try to help him out and I'm not ashamed to post this info.

See ya'

Dan

p.s. Tim..thanks again for the cover install guidance!!

Wow is right! Awesome story Dan.

This just goes to show how generous the Lightning guys are. Well, that might be an understatement in this particular case. I didn't think anybody could be THAT generous, and had YOU not told this story, I probably wouldn't have believed it.

There is hope for humanity after-all.

Ten bucks says the guy is a Mason or Shriner.

Cheers to William, wherever you are!

Tim

Well..he obviously lurks here being that he saw my original posts. I sent him an email with the link to this one. May'be he'll jump on and make an appearance?

We'll see...

Vinnie,

You got a great deal and you know it. I didn't want my knee caps smashed!

I hope they're still working good for you.

Come on down to Bristol this weekend, Sissy!
