big big problems kind of long

Ok where to start. Well I got my Lightning about 3 months ago and I love it so much. I bought it used for 22900 with 21k miles on it. Well the first thing I noticed was that there was a ticking noise. So I took it to the dealer and they told me that I had low oil pressure. So they fixed it. Now about 3 months later the same noise came back. So I take it back to the dealer like 2 days ago and guess what still there. They finally tell me the problem at first I thought it was piston slap but wrong, they call it excessive crank thrust. So I said how u going to fix it and they say new motor. But itĄ¯s a FQR engine I think a rebuilt one. So I donĄ¯t knoe what to do I have to get the new engine but should I keep the truck or should I just sell and get something else. If I sell I think ill be about to get more then what I paid. So what should I do???????? Need some advice. And if I sell what other car or truck should I get??????????? The only reason why im thing about selling is because I donĄ¯t knoe if it is reliable. Well thanks and sorrie for being so long but I really need your help

thanks

soap - Yeah, kinda was.

krnlightning - What year is the lightning? I assume its a 99 since you don't state that it can be repaired under warrenty. Im not really sure what you should do. I don't like telling people to get rid of their lightning, but... I think youve come to a big problem...

If it will be replaced under warrenty than keep the truck! The trucks are good as long as you're not beating the crap out of them.

They will give you an 01' or 02' motor. I was told by my dealer that high milage trucks were getting a rebuilt motor, and low milage trucks were getting a new one. You really take a chance on buying any truck. New or used. Some guys baby their trucks and have problems, some kill em and their fine. When you get it fixed, it will be ok or it won't. Really all i can tell you. It's already been worked on once by this dealer and it wasn't done correctly. Might want to find another dealer to fix it.

Talking

soap, you crack me up, LOL ok krn, first thing you need to do is learn how to type and speak proper sentences, THEN you can go argue and fight with the dealer and actually have a leg to stand on, LOL

Why must some people criticize others. The guy just wants some help. I have seen way to much negativity lately on this site, but I guess some people are just _____. I hate to curse so fill in the blank

I had the dealer replace the engine I blew and it was a reman no difference you can see except the tag on the side of the block. The heads I belive are reconditioned new valve train and new rods pistons and crank. They will reuse the intake and blower. esentially the engine is identical to a new one the bores are even the same. I know this cause I rebuilt the engine that Ford put in and all the parts in the short block were brand new. I would not worry about the replacement.

thanks for the info
i wanted them to just fix the problem "excessive crank thrust" but i guess ford just replaces the motor instead of fixing it well i guess i get new motor. they tell me that they are going to take the old motor somewhere and test it so i guess i will still be at 360 instead of 380 huh? well thanks for info

Why wouldnt you get 360hp thats what the 00's were rated from the factory and unless they are putting in a 6 cylinder or differnet engine you shouldnt lose any hp right . Plus im pretty sure that 360 was underrated from the factory. And thats at the crank not rear wheels you wont see 360 at the rear stock.
