spark plug tool? anyone used it?
Has anyone used this spark plug socket on the L? Is this the wobbly head someone was speaking of from snap-on? I want to be able to change plugs without running all over the place to get tools, so if this helps I will order in advance. Thanks,
For my plug changes I use the following:
1/4 ratchet w/:
8" extension - locking
4" extension
7mm socket w/ build in swivel
3/8 ratchet w/:
6" locking extension
3" locking extension
3" extension
spark plug socket w/ rubber boot on the inside

Part # for snap-on socket S9720KA its about 50 bucks but well worth it the plugs are deep down in the heads and the socket is about 6 inches long and knurled on the end so you can spin the pugs in by hand. I have done the plugs on mine enough I have it down to about an hour.

While you guys are talking about tools i just wanted to ask if i have to take off the fuel line to take out the plugs? I have only had my truck a few weeks and I dont need to change them but i just was looking around and it looked pretty tight down there. Thanks
You don't have to remove the fuel rails but you have to pull them of the fuel injectors. I just pull the rails off to the side. I also pull the injectors but leave them hooked up and just swing them out of the way. I remove the coil packs cause they can get in the way when hooked up. I also remove the air inlet tube up to the throtlebody and the braket that holds the sylinoids and other stuff. You will allso want to remove part of the braket for the power steering reservoir. Also when replacing the plugs be carefull only put them in by hand so you don't strip the threads and snug them up and when you tighten with a ratchet only a 1/16 of a turn is needed.
you dont even have to mess with the fuel injectors or fuel rails...
you can get to all the plugs, i did....
