Single Blade Throttle Body Question

Hi All,

I plan on ordering my new JDM Single Blade Throttle Body in the next few days but I just read something that makes me ask, should I ??? I've see advertized HP gains of 8-10 and ditto on the Ft Lbs of Torque gain. But I just read something one of you guys has posted on your website, AND I QUOTE:

"No extra speed was gained at the track but the throttle response and everyday drivability were improved"

I don't want improved drivability, I want HP, Torque, and Quicker ET's for the $500.00.

Who has one, and what kind of "IMPROVED PERFORMANCE" and faster ET's did you experience.

Thanks in advance

Rob

You would be better off goung with a 4# lower pulley for less money and achieve much higher gains. I would also add a line mod valve and larger transmission pan for improved cooling and firmer shifts.

I don't have any 'hard and fast' numbers to quote but I believe the single-blade th/bodies 'open' up the intake path and therefore, help produce an overall increase in quickness and speed. A pulley would give you more speed than a th/body but both would be even better--IMHO.

screw the line mod. Go with the F/T valve body.

I think this is pretty accurate....no real HP gains but there is a seat of the pants difference in throttle response .

T/B's are better suited to heavily modified L's. Spend your money on a chip and pulley. Best bang for the buck. BABolt billet T/B can be had for much less than $500.

mods

I put an Accufab single blade on my mostly stock 01' in prep for some mods being done at JDM's this month. The top end seems a little better, a little better throttle response around town and more intake noise. I think with more mods I would have gotten a little more out of it, but on my ride it left me with a " thats it for 500.00" feeling. If your ride is stock do a chip and a pulley or a valve body and a chip, these combo's will give you more bang for the buck. Good luck, Todd

I am absolutely shocked you haven't went 12's yet,,, amazing,, I feel for you big time there, I know people with far less mods who made 12's,, plus your truck was pretty fast stock at 13.5, you'd think she'd be much faster now.
