Thumbs up Thanks guys for the info on boost bypass! It helped

Well I tried unplugging the boost gauge and I did notice the difference in my 1st to 2nd shift..The boost seemed to be building very good and very continually.. The only thing that I don't like that seems different is when I put my truck in park the Idle drops drastically and my dashboard lights flicker and then it picks back up..Is this normal? Also if I plug the boost bypass back up do I need to disconnect the neg terminal on my battery?

BTW, the power loss that i was having wasn't from the boost. I took a chance and changed my fuel filter again since about 4K miles ago and what a difference!! I didn't think it was that because Ford says that they are good for 15K miles..I came to the conclusion that maybe when they did my induction service recently and blew the bad carbon out, that in conjunction with existing carbon in the filter really trapped it up bad..

Just wanted to say thanks a million guys!
You guys are the best!

I'm ready for the track again...I'm gonna Try Renolds Ga. this time
The 14.9 time I got was done at commerce Ga..Renolds has a faster track
Take care!!!

Huh? I never heard of carbon in the fuel filter. Maybe dirt, not carbon.

I'm at 21K now. Guess it's time for me to change my fuel filter?

Guys see what I posted a minute ago:

99: Hope to see you at Reynolds soon. Let me know what Friday night you're coming down. Btw, a combustion chamber'fuel inj./intake cleaning cannot dirty or clog up the fuel filter. The filter is between the gas tank and the fuel inj. not after the injectors. What that type of cleaning can do is to dilute your eng. oil. It can wash the oil off the cyl. walls and get past the rings--maybe. I always do an intake cleaning just before an oil change. If you don't, your oil's viscosity may be thinned out and cause bearing, cyl. walls, etc. wear--not good.

Hey LIGHTNINROD...I normally take my truck to the dealer which is lots of MULAHH for the intake/fuel cleaning..Could you tell me how I can do this at the comfort and convenience of my own home? Is there anything you hook up to your fuel system?

Thanks for the advice man!

OK, here is a link on Seafoam and how to apply it. This is being done on a Camaro but it can be applied to our Ls:

Remember, do change your oil soon if you do this intake cleaning idea. I found Seafoam hard to find here in the South(it comes from Minnesota, I believe) but call around. I finally found some at a NAPA but not all NAPAs carry it.
