GT40 update

The latest on the GT40 straight from AutoWeek. Roush, Saleen, Lear, & Mayflower will work together to produce the car. Roush will develop the powertain, Lear will handle the interior, Mayflower will develop the aluminum body and chassis, Saleen will assemble the car. Carrol Shelby will serve as senior technical adviser.

The car is to be delivered in limited numbers next summer, but total production will be in the thousands once assembly fully ramps up. All suppliers have to be within 300 miles of Dearborn. Saleen will have to open a new facility.

Take a great car and let a total hack like Saleen assemble it? What the hell is Ford thinking? Whomever made that decision should be fired. If Ford wont assemble the car, I would be damned sure the Roush Facility did.

Saleen has not only the WORST Quality Control, their customer service is **** poor of ANY aftermarket company.

We stopped selling roush mustangs and F150s due to them being junk. We got a bunch of mustangs in that the rear fender lips had been beat around with a hammer to clear the tires and the paint on every one of them has cracked and peeled around to the outside of the car. Also, the front sway bars cut into the rims of you turn the wheel sharp, and the side ground effects fall off (held on with double sided tape)

I'm surprised the production numbers will be in the thousands. Isn't the estimated price about $120,000?

They are still claiming $80k-$100k. I hope they can keep it under $100k. Time to start selling organs.
