new cooling idea

ive been working at a costomers house for a couple of weeks now. he has quite a collection of fast cars. one in particular, gave me an idea. it is a pantara with a built cobra 4.6 w/ a supercharger. that isnt even the kool part. he branched the freon (sp?) from his a/c into the intercooler on his supercharger. here in las vegas it gets pretty damn hot. when the outside air is at 100 degrees, the air entering the engine is 35 degrees. i dont know if this has ever been talked about or if anyone has tried this, but i think its worth a shot!

is anyone up for the challenge?...chris

lots of talk

There's lots of talk, and it would definetly work, but I don't know of anyone who has done it.

It all in theory could be done, but not on a stock intercooler. It would have to be a third party peice. But it does sound like a cool (pun) project.

I thought there was a guy who did that to his truck, or maybe it was a GTP that did it but I remember hearing that before.

It wouldn't be all that hard to do if you think about it?

I always thought you guys with power coolers could also run an intercooler in the stock air box, or something similar, and cool the 100deg track air down to say 50 deg and get that power back like you get in the spring. the intercooler could serve as an air filter at the track. If you are already carring the weight of the power cooler...Why not??
