Windshield rubber

Okay, who here besides me has had to have the upper windshield rubber repaired?
An area about 16 inches long right in the middle came out on mine yesterday. It just so happened that I was on my way to see a friend at his body and paint shop when it happened. He repaired it with some urethane. I had a look under it and it sure looks to be a cheap installation.

I had that happen but it was after doing a 140MPH run. It was fun but after i slowed down i started hearing the rubber flapping.

Was I going over 100 ?

Actually I was giving a friend who works at the shop I was going to a demonstration by pulling a hole shot and running her through the gears. You see he has a Nostalgia class small block
Gremlin that runs mid 10's and is always hastling me about my selling all my old hot rods and buying the Lightning.
Well it was in the 90's yesterday and with all the banging around while the truck was shifting, and the rubber being real hot..........
YES, Damn it, I was going well over 100..........I actually thought I had peeled the sheet metal off the roof with all the flapping around that was going on up there.
By the way, he was impressed with the performance !!!!

It's happened to me too. The whole top rubber trim piece had to be replaced.

Don't go the dealer and tell them that one, they'll probably tell you they can't fix it b/c you shouldn't be driving that fast in the first place
