Talking "Kill Story"... Ram ext cab 4x4.

So... I was driving to work today... and behind me I see this white dodge ram zooming up. I changed lanes, and they zipped past, a lady driving, and a guy in the passenger seat looking at me and laughing. It was an exended cab, 4x4.
We were at a stoplight, I wasn't thinking anything of it. They screached the tires and shot off... I just watched, but then the lady honks, and dude is looking back, still laughing. Hmmmmm... It doesn't look like they've ever heard of a lightning. This seemed really fast for a stock RAM... might have had something done to it to make her think it was fast...
So one more stoplight, and the only thing past it is about 5 miles of open road. This time I pay attention... she squeels, I don't... I pace her until about 50 mph. She is still looking at me, smiling... so I smile back, wave, and press to the floor. It was almost like she pressed the brakes.
She slowed waaaay down, and big friend in the passenger side was no longer laughing.
I normally don't do this, but I really wouldn't call this a "street race".

Yes, that is a street race. You pressed the pedal to the floor. Shame on you. You put everyone in danger and should be locked away.

they can be fast...

I saw one at the track recently:

Dodge Ram 4x4 with lift kit and knobby tires. Running 13.9

I'd expect if he dropped the lift and added some real tires he could be quite a bit quicker.

This was the cummings turbo diesel, so not your plain jane, but they can be fast...

Good kill! What is it with Dodge people??? I had a kid in a Dakota Sport (NOT EVEN AN R/T) give me some jumps late on night on a deserted stretch of highway. Needless to say, I couldn't even see him by the time I hit 130 or so. Not too long after that, I had some guy in a 1500 try and "pin me in" at an intersection (my lane ended and I had to merge). I heard a small chirp from his tires and that was it. I looked back at ~90 and couldn't even tell what kinda vehicle was follwing me.

Oh well, I think victories are more fun when you actually get to crush someone's spirit....when they actually believe in their hearts that they have a chance.

why is it

that everyone who drives a ram pickup thinks they are a bad ***. I love when they give it a rev and think they are so powerfull with their loud exhaust. I pick on at least 1 a day. 1 day i might get surprised though. My best ram kill was this dink who was weaving in and out of lanes. We pulled up to a light on the highway(there's a turnaround. The light turned green and i did about a 5 second burn out, caught up to him and blew past him. He wasn't changing lanes like tough guy anymore. I'm willing to bet he stopped by the nearest ford dealer on the way to where he was going to get a trade in evaluation on his piece of crap!!!!

I never said I didn't.

In fact last night I smoked a TT supra from 60 to 130 and had him by many many car lengths. Not once but twice.

I agree about the attitude that Ram drivers get. My buddy recently got a used Ram 2500 ext cab 4x4 long bed with Cummins turbo diesel, and thinks he can outrun my Lightning...
Dream on! His truck is stock, around 245 hp, 505 tq, but weighs close to 7000 pounds! Even with manual tranny, that thing feels so sluggish and heavy. He only got it to be 'king of the road', since he doesn't pull anything heavier than a jetski. I haven't found the best opportunity to embarrass him in a race yet.

He's always saying he has a 'real' truck, while my L and Tundra are just toys. Sure, he can out-pull me when hauling a heavy trailer, but that's not what I bought my trucks for. I don't see any reason to buy a 3/4 ton unless you really need the towing/hauling ability, want to be the 'big guy' around, or you like diesel engines. I like trucks to have good handling, acceleration, and braking, which are attributes I can use on a daily basis. It's not often I pull a 10,000 pound trailer on everyday. I also like to be able to fit in tight parking spots too.

And to top it off, his fuel pump broke on him, leaving him stranded. My L and Tundra have been relatively problem free so far

Thumbs up

Nice job!! I would have done the same thing if I had a L! My daily driver is a 2000 EB EXP, so I don't get to do much of that.
I do have a 1975 F-100 drag truck that is barely street legal that would do the job. It stays on the strip mostly, but has been cruising a few times. I haven't been lucky enough though to find a race on the road. I built it to give the Chevys a run for their money and it does very well!
