Hey BfB...Ok I just tried the oil idea..I can't really hear any pressure release with or w/out the engine running. I think with the engine on I probably can't hear it because of the other noises. When I gave it gas I still didn't hear any significant or extreme amout of pressure out the case blowing back. I do notice that when I fire it up, the RPMs jump to around 1500 and drops to 600RPMs then raises to about 800RPM at idle in park..When i'm in Drive it drops to 700..I don't know if thats abnormal or not..Sometimes (especially when its hot outside) when I fire it up, the Idle surges kinda drastically.. I went ahead and purchased the Stant 160 degree thermostat..The weather here in Ga. is like 95+ so maybe thats effecting things also. I took my truck into a muffler shop to check for leaks because I had my stock exhaust welded back on.. I purchased a Magnaflow months back that really sucked so I went back stock ..Thats another story...He saw very small leaks and he told me that it shouldn't effect performance enough to notice..He also checked my cats by knocking on them for some reason and said they seemed fine. This was 3 months ago though..

Oh BTW... I launched with hardly any spin..Just feathered the gas until I rolled off and nailed it.. I even folded my mirrors in and I do have a tanneau roll cover.. I'm not smelling in rotten smells from the cats..

Hey SVTMike...What Mods did you have when you ran that 14.8? Was this stock?

Did you dyno the truck AFTER he checked to see if your cats were "rattling" (that's why he banged on them)?

Have you pulled out your chip and ran it down the road yet like I mentioned? Try that...it'll only take about 20 min. if that.

Unhappy

The 02 sensors 'vanes' may be 'clogged' or covered in carbon from the fuel injection/air intake cleaning the tech did??? I would think that would throw a code or a light, so maybe not???

Ok took the chip out and truck ran fine but still my acceleration sucks..It seems like it just takes more foot in the pedal to get the truck going than it use to..I think i'm gonna try and forget about it and wait until we get some cooler weather and see what happens. I purchased the truck last fall so I never experienced driving it in 95+ degree temperatures...

When did you dyno the truck? Was if after he inspected the exhaust? And what conditions did you dyno it in?

when you guys take the cats off, you know you have to buy a special o2 censor to trick the computer, correc.?

No you do not. Even though the SES light will trigger, Ford's OBD-II system does nothing to hinder their vehicles performance if the cats are removed. Nothing at all!

A chip will easily turn the SES light off.

Cool

HI!... Yes you usually have to get a chip programmed for NO CATS but in my case I've been driving for 3 weeks now with no CATS at all and have got NO codes or SES light. MIKE TROYER and I can't seem to figure it out. It should be giving me a SES light but it's not, weird.

It'll prolly eventually happen

Even so, if it triggers, the OBD-II system will NOT hinder performance in any way from cat removal. The ONLY reason to have a chip burned for "No Cats" is to keep/remove that dreaded SES light. You DEFINITELY do not want to have the light on because of gutting/removing your cats only to not realize that you may have something else amidst that you can't recognize because the light is already on.

02 Sensor Simulators

When you install an non-catalytic exhaust system on your OBD-II monitored car, the dreaded "Service Engine Soon" (SES) lamp will illuminate. The 1996-up computers rely on oxygen sensors not only to adjust fuel flow, but also to determine the effectiveness of your catalytic convertors. Without convertors, it will fail the test, and that's when the "SES" comes on. These 02 Simulators work by tricking the computer into thinking you have fully functional catalytic convertors installed. Your car will still use the front sensors to trim fuel flow

BUT, you do NOT need them. Performance is not hindered in anyway on Ford OBD-II equipped vehicles by ditching your cats. Most nearly everyone out there w/ exhaust modifications already has a chip. Having their chip reburned to fix the SES light from coming on because of no cats is the simplest and most cost effective means.

Hey Bfb...I did have my exhaust inspected after my dyno. The dynojet was performed at a Mod friendly Ford dealership. The weather was breezy outside at about 80 degrees. A giant fan was directed at my truck. Also the air from the outside if that helps.. Before the Dyno I was running the NGK TR5s and decided to switch back to the factory motorcrafts.. That was the entire purpose of taking my truck to the dealer for loss of power.. The tech recommended that I should go back stock because the TR5s were too hot of a plug. He suggested that I either use stock or NGK TR6 because they were colder. He told me that could possible contribute to the power loss.. So we dynoed with the Stock plugs and those are the numbers I had.( 335RWHP 414RWTQ w/air raid filter. 345RWHP -418RWTQ w/filter and JDM chip. Maybe I should have also tested with the TR5s..

Ran a 14.9 at the track tonight

What track did you run at??
What RPM did you launch?
What were your 60 ft, 1/8th mile times?
What was your trap speed??

Have your checked your air and feul filters lately??

Look for the smallest thing first then work your way to more intricate things. You don't want to trip too much in the beginning because it could be something very small. I think that it would be some sort of misfire if your coilpacks were bad. Did you check all of your air and inlet hoses for leaks or improper connections??
