Big Favor: 90mm MAF Question

I am hoping someone will oblige and do a favor for me. Can you take a picture of your 90mm MAF opening showing the sampling tube, and give me the part number off of it. A friend bought a 90mm "Lightning" MAF and it doesn't look like my 80mm from my 99L. My 80mm sampling tube goes half way into the mouth. The one he was sold goes all the way across. Please email pics to me at kj94gt@dfwstangs.net

No need for a pic, if his sample tube goes all the way across, it's not a Lightning MAF. The 90mm looks just like the 80mm, with a larger throat.

That's what I thought. A local Mustang shop sold it to him as a Lightning MAF.

Would someone be willing to post up the part number from their 90mm MAF? The 90mm MAF my friend has that is a 90mm, but isn't a Lightning MAF displays:
F6UF-12B579-AA
9E26-2
7532288

He was sold this MAF as a Lightning meter, which it obviously isn't. He just needs more ammo for when he goes and raises hell to the local Mustang shop here in Dallas.

The part number for the Lightning MAF is 1L3Z-12B579-AA. From the part number you gave, it sounds like the meter he was sold is a mid 90s 80mm Cobra or Lincoln MAF. Is it aluminum?

BTW, the MAF "size" isn't measured at the flange, so you can't go by that. The 90mm Lightning MAF is 98.6mm at the flange.

I cannot confirm, NOR deny that question. Don't wanna get into trouble by whoever the local shop was for slander. Anyway, it is not aluminum. It is plastic. Looks just like a 90mm Lightning MAF, but only measures 92mm at the mouth.
