There is supposed to be a darker silver to replace the current silver, so you might be done for

Thumbs up

Here is the new Harley Grey that might be one of the Lightnings new colors for 03. The pic isnt the best but i have seen this color in person at the NY auto show and it is just awesome. The paint is loaded with metal flake and i love that look.

If you go out to the Pavillions tonite you'll see mine .
The chrome wheels ,chrome H.D. tips,Chrome Bullett gas door,Polished billett grills,Fibernetics hard cover,Shiny emblems and 2" drop will push you over the edge!
If you want True Blue you'd better hurry. It's a 2002 only color!
I do know the build for '02 is finished, and we [Berge Ford] are not getting in any more True Blues.
Hope to see you tonite!-Dave.

I would say hold onto your older Lightning. No sense in fixing something that isn't broke, and your current Lightning is still badass even if it isn't True Blue. If you trade up to new car payments, that's just longer you have to go before you get it paid off. If you really want a new Lightning, just wait till 2004, because from what i'm hearing from my buddies, they are going to be totally badass with a significant power boost. If you buy one now, or a 03, you'll regret it when the 04's come out.

I went in last night because "since we are passing by we may as well..." If it hadn't been for my friend Leah and her husband Jeff I would have woken up with a new truck. I seriously think I have a problem. I also thought Leah was going to hit me and Jeff was going to hit the dealer. But I still have my Lil Girl and I there a long time thinking About how I really don't want to get rid of her. Or at least, I'm not ready to yet. And if it's true that they are going to up the power maybe it would make sense to wait. By then I will have this one paid off. Then I can decide if I want to keep her and get the new one or trade her in or sell her. (Yeah, I'll probably keep her) Anyway, thanks for the advice guys. If anybody can tell me anything specific at all about the 04s I'd love to know everything I can.

BAD,
Yeah I am pretty sure I will be seeing you tonight, but it sure won't be at 5:30. We are bbqing here at about 6:30 or 7. Is there still going to be stuff going on at 9?

SVTGirl,
This is J.R. in Tucson. We have two new '02 True Blues on the lot now, so if you are getting a hard time from the dealers in Phx, PM me and we can set up an appointment.

Hey, it's only "1" hour by Lightning!

Cheers,

Exclamation

From what i read on here and have been hearing 04 is way to early for a power increase or the body change. 04 might be when they introduce the body change to the regular f-series then i heard maybe 05 or more like 06 for the Gen 3 lightning if they make it. That is what they did with the Gen 2's they introduced them about 2 years after the body change to the regualr f-series. I really hope they dont make the lightning in 04 i think they should have stopped at 01 and kept with the Gen 1's of a 3 year run. As for a power increase i dont think that will happen until the body change. Just my $0.02 .

JR,

Now that's what I am talking about. Somebody that I can relate to and differentiate from just another car dealer. That sounds like a great plan. I will be in touch with you this week to set something up. Thanks so much.

BB2,
We will make it before 10 I'm sure. I hope to see you there. I'm excited. Gotta go clean the wheels. hehe

Cyn,
If I could afford that I would never have started this topc in the first place.... :\

No sense in buying an '02 then come to find out you like one of the new colors better-----or you like the new rims better----or something like that.

If you dont want an '03, try to find a blue '02. Your dealer can try to find one nearby and bring it to their lot for you.

Hey Struckby99 what did you do to your L to get it to pull those times??

Hey White SVT Girl

It's tough when you got the fever! Hope you got Xplan pin when they were practically handing them out this past Spring? If not, contact Ford Investor Relations Dept. saying they are coming out with a number of nice vehicles and you are considering investing> they will probably send you a pin # for Xplan. X plan is only way to buy. Don't take a 1 year depreciation hit by buying an 02 unless you have to have 02 color. 03 Expedition currently advertised is good indication of new F150 front end. Jan. 03 might have news of 04 L if they make it that year. If not, good time to get a dealer to accept X plan since sales really suck in Jan. What ever you try, really clean up your baby and sell it yourself. You'll get royally screwed in you buy new on X and trade in your baby. Only offset might be $1200 or so savings on sales tax if you trade in. Good luck! Let us know what you decide.

Jake, Thanks so much for the info. I will give them a call. I'll make sure to be all stealthy. I want to check with JR at in Tucson first before I do anything. May be a chance to have a more honest experience with a dealer instead of just going in and having to play games. The thought has crossed my mind to sell outright first. Thanks again.
