Question Fuel system problem?

I recently put the engine back together. I have the dual 255 pumps and it ran fine for about a day and a half. Last night I was at the drive in at idle for approx. 10 minutes when I pressed the gas to go the truck stuttered and I couldn't go above 1/8th throttle. I hooked up the fuel pressure gauge right now it is 11lbs. The fuel filter is brand new and to make sure I just removed it to check it is fine. No leaks at the hobbs switch or sender for fuel pressure. I turned the truck to the 'ON' position and the fuel pumps pump out some fuel for a couple of seconds.

Any ideas on what else to check before lowering the tank and looking at the pumps?

What is the FP with the truck in the "on" position but not running.

My FP @ idle is 37-39psi, so your 11psi is WAY low (I am sure you know that )

It pumps up to about 10 then back to zero.
I'm thinking that one of the clamps came off. I'm going to drop the tank.

I found the problem. It is a good thing I don't do this for a living! It onlytook an hour. Now back on track for some street racing.

Hmmm, at idle my fuel pressure is at 30-34. Is that bad?

hehe

I'm guessing either you tightened the clamp too close to the pump outlet and once under pressure it popped off the end, or you just plain forgot to hook it up???

It happens. Check this out. Changed my oil tonight. Turned the wheel to the drivers side to get at the drain plug easier. Drained the oil. Got in the the truck to start it to turn the wheel back the other way and the bulb lit up on top of my head......i was having a senior moment at the age of 22!!!!
