I talked with SVT today and the guy told me that they had stopped production on the 02's on June 2nd. He also said that they wouldn't be starting production of the 03's until November. My concern is that if I wait until September to get my L that there won't be any 02's left and I wont be able to get an 03 until January. Does anyone know if this assumption is right or if there will still be 02's left on dealer's lots come September. I don't think I'll be able to get one before then so I'd rather know now than have my hopes up until September only to find out that they don't have any left and won't until January.

Given your circumstances, you're just gonna have to take your chances that there will be some 2002s remaining on dealer lots. My experience in the Twin Cities was that there were several around well into the late Fall...like even around Thanksgiving.

If you wait, you may get a better deal as the dealers will want the 2002s GONE, ASAP. But, if your local dealers are out of stock on 2002s, you may have to travel to get what you want. Have seen many guys post here, inquiring where to find leftover Ls late in the model year.
