air intake

As most of you know im new to the this board. I did a search about intake systems and i found something but it didnt really help me. maybe searching for the wrong thing. anyways I was wondering if i should get a cone from k&n or should i stay with the box and get a K&n box. When i got cai cold air intake for my maxima, i remember that just a popcharger would take in hot air so it was not as good as the cold Air Intake. So what do you guys think i should do. save my money and get like a airaid or one from jdm or should i just stick with stock box and k&n filter

thanks for reading

take care

Lots of guys go with the K&N flat filter and cut holes in the bottom of the box..or remove the bottom altogeather(see BfBs).

I prefer the PSP Fast Air(or fresh air ) kit. Two tubes bring cooler air to the filter which is somewhat protected from eng. heat by a metal box.

I dont think K&N makes a Air Filter Kit for the L's, my best bet would be go with PSP or JDM's Air Filters, or Fast Air Kits

The PSP entire kit is about 400 bucks as in fast air kit, but just the filter itself is about 179

Take your time and save up for the PSP Fast Air kit. If you buy something else(cheaper) now you will be disappointed and may end up spending even more later.

Having said that, usahooter's mod will work(just not as good as the PSP kit[IMHO]--more 'cool' air with it) and is cost effective but you will hack up your stock air box whereas, with a kit you keep the box whole and 'new'.

put 20 a week away till you have enough to buy a cold air kit. That way you will get the best and you will not have wasted money buying something that you will replace later
