The latest two years for Snell certification (e.g. Snell '02 or '99)
or DOT rated passes at my track. But remember, you only have
ONE head! Protect it, don't go cheap!!!

It has to be Snell SA rated (Special Application) not M (Motorcycle).

Question

Is it true that Lightning helmets are bigger than other racing helmets?

For most of the guys on this board it has to get bigger J/K. Really, the helmets for L owners must be able to swell as needed for instances of smoking unsuspecting sports cars.

Helmet must be snell 90 or newer here. It doesn't have to be SA rated, M is ok according to the tech at our track....

SLVRLTNG hit it on the head. Check at the tracks you're going to be running.

But be careful not to get a helmet that's too big. Lots of helmet makers will not send off the KING KONG sized ones off to get SNELL approved

Thumbs up

I think that helmet is pulling double duty.
I recall that Vinnie has a red Legends car.

$10 dollar helmet for a $10 dollar head... My advice would be to get a full face SA00 rated helmet. Go someplace that'll let you try on ones 'till you find the one that fits and you like. There's a cool place near here, OG RACING, that will let you do just that...
