holy **** i never knew the lightning was that fast. I got my lightnings like 2 months ago and i never really raced a real car until right now. i was driving and i saw a cobra not sure if 03 but new body style. im a 2000 by the way anyways at the first light i killed him but i think he miss shifted hehe. the second light i got him off the line and started to pull by inches then im going like 120 or so in a local street we were neck to neck but i had the edge its was crazy. as we were going like 120 an intersection was comming up so i hit the breaks kind of hard i skided a bit not that much but the crazy cobra still went he was hitting the intersection and yellow light came on. i saw him hit is breaks then he just went for it. the thing is i thought that i would get beaten by the newer cobras the lightnings is hella sick now time for mods haha. but the thing is the car started to smell i little bit weird like burning and its not eh tired i dont think because its is commign from the front tires. what do u think it could be? i smelt the the front grill but no smell then i smelt the front tires and there was that smell well if u can help thanks and sorrir for long post

It was proably your brakes. You said you hit them hard right and did you start smelling it before or after you hit them hard? Also you said it was a 00 correct ? How many mile is on it? Im guessing that they probalby are original pads and rotors and your probably need to chancge them. Well from what you told me thats what i think the smell was.

 

i think so to because i just went out ans smelled it and its is comming from the wheel well and not from the front of the grill so its ok right? but its so so sweet to hear two superchargers at the same time its was hella loud

I've got a friend who hopes to buy one shortly,, doesn't want to make it look like back to the future car,,, but i think it would be hella cool if he had a flux capaciter.

Yhea, I blew out the flux capaciter in my truck. Costs a hell of a lot to replace!

And i got a question for you. Do you pay for your Ligthning or do you parents ? I see that your 19 no big deal im 23 but the way you beat on your truck seems like you dont give a rats @$$ what happens to it and if something did you would just get another one handed to you? I dont know about you but if im spending my hard earned money on my truck wouldnt want anything to happen to her. Now im not saying this is true but that is the feeling that i get from the few post you have here.

No offense but you believed that flux capaciter thing and you said that it was awesome hearing two superchargers at the same time. Now either you have a dual supercharger set up on your lightning which i doubt because top gun is still trying to work out the bugs on his setup and has been working on that for years. Or your trying to tell us that you ran stock against a blown cobra which means that it could have been a 03 and that you ran with it up to 120 and had the edge. Hello if it was a 03 no way would you have beat him like you said in a stock truck especaily if he knew how to drive. So you better watch who your calling stupid when you are shoveling ***** like that. This site and usaully all the guys on it are helpful including me as you can see i was the first to respond to your post. But when you start shoveling is BS thats when you will get a ripped a new @$$.

First, local street, 120mph, that's completely irresponsible.

Second, if you were in a stock 2000 L, that wasn't an '03 Cobra you were racing, because you would have seen their tail lights, especially at the speeds you were talking.

I honestly hope that you change your ways. Take it to the track.
