I have a JL cold air, and the black metal tube that is at the end that is inserted into the hole in the fender rests on the bottom of the hole and when the car is strated or his bumps it squeaks. Wrapped it in electrical tape and it wore through and is squeaking again. Any ideas? Driving me nuts.

 

Yup..........same ***** here.....It drives me nuts too.....It makes it sounds like an old car or something......I'm gonna see if I can find some kind of rubber molding for the end where at least it won't squeak............I don't know if the extra blower whine is worth the annoying noise over the stock airbox with K&N and cutout........I don't feel any increase in power..............I guess the dyno will tell later this summer

Had the same problem with mine after installation....my problem was the metal box was making contact with the speed control module as well as rubbing on the fender hole. I experimented by taking some 1 inch foam strips and cutting them up and inserting/positioning them at all contact points....problem solved, quiet as a mouse...also cushions the air box nicely (sorry can't post pics). Just experiment....it'll work out.
