Rattle still not fixed

Brought the truck in for problem .6 hours later said it was fuel lines rattling / chassis .Took truck home guess what it was still their. On paper it stated mech test drived it after fuel line fix no rattle any more at this time. What was he listning to radio while test driving it.Well i called back service desk they said bring it in Tue morning.Said he will test drive it himself with mech in truck, while i am there in morning.Service person was real nice to me it seemed he was a little pissed off about the rattle being there still. The mech should really care about the work they do on our SVT's.Like i was'nt going to notice it,This really **** me off another day wasted to bring truck in.I hope the mech use Q-TIPS tonite after he showers,So he can he the rattle he said that was fixed. THANKS JIMMY

Got truck back noise is 90 % gone only when i hit a bump hard i hear a little jingle up front by drivers wheel. They said it was the steering stop bolts on drivers side was loose. The ones that bolt to frame. I want to ask you lightning owners if they tighted the bolts all the way not to damage the steering stop components .But its still making a little noise could it be the bushings are bad.And if so if i put poly bushings will noise likely end . THANKS JIMMY

Don`t own a Lightning but a 00 F150 Supercab. I had a real bad rattling up front that they could not pinpoint either. After getting frustrated I decided to check it out myself. I found that the front discs have a metal cover over the hub bolt(under the dust cap) that were loose and creating the metallic rattle I was hearing. I think they are there to help the cotter pin hold the bolt from turning out and getting loose.I put a couple dabs of rtv on the covers to hold it tight against the bolt and keep them from moving around and re-installed them. I let the truck sit a hr or so to let the rtv dry and firm up then drove it around on the road with the most bumps I could find. I couldn`t hear the metallic rattling anymore and that was over a yr ago and still quite. I`m not sure its the same noise you hear but it was loud and very annoying, it couldn`t hurt to check.....

The cage that covers the cotter pin is for the front half shaft for the 4x4. Yes they usually are loose from the factory and make noise but would not apply to the lightning. The steering stops are formed to the control arms and hit the steering knuckle when necessary. I think whomever is working on your truck needs a few pointers.
