Unhappy O/T post: the reason why I'm not getting an '03 Cobra

FYI, everyone, I know there's been a lot of discussion on the board lately about L owners trading for '03 Cobras. While the Mustang's horsepower-to-weight ratio is tempting, there's one thing about L's that Mustang's can't touch: crash impact safety. It's the main reason I sold my Cobra for my Lightning.

For anyone doubting this, check out this article: http://www.firehouse.com/hotshots/ph...2/7/9_ca.html. I glad everyone walked away from this accident.

Sorry.. this is knee-jerk journalism...

TOO many pieces that had to have failed on the stang.

NO reminant of red paint down the side of the Taurus that should be present from having cut a car in half.

Sure doesn't look like enough damage on the other car, to split the stang in half. At least thats my opinon

If it really broke like that on impact with the other car, then the Mustang could begin to fall apart under some hi-G turns or hard bumps. I'm not buying. Not enough info.

I saw some graph on the survival of motorists in crashes between trucks and cars. The death rate for the trucks was a solid line right near zero. And the cars where like sky high. I wish I could find it again...it was on one of the crash sites and they had graphs for everything. Hope someone could find this if possible. Trucks are safer...it's physics
