TR6="service engine soon" light on
TR6="service engine soon" light on
I just put in TR6's, gapped at .040" and my "service engine soon" light keeps coming on. I've disconnected the PCM twice, and within an hour its back on. I've also installed a fuel pressure gauge, and a mechanical boost gauge, the day after the plugs were put in. I have the stock pulley still, could the plugs be making me run rich, and turning my light on? My 6# pulley is going to be tomorrow, will this fix it? Has anyone ever had the light come on after putting in TR6's?
sounds odd that just changing plugs made the light come on, but who knows right? are you sure you didnt leave anything unplugged when you did the plug change? i would go out and double check all connections, maybe you left one coil pack unplugged? its a long shot, but first things first. Mike

find someone who has one or go buy one, you can find out exactly what code is getting set. for $150 or less you can eliminate the guessing. I would say you had to have knocked something loose.....lots of vaccum lines in the way of the plugs. Like said earlier....fuel injectector connections, coil pack connections, vaccum lines-especially if you installed a boost guage. Check connections to the pressure guage.
You're not getting any 'missing', therefore I don't think it's a plug problem per se. It could be something knocked loose as others have said but my money's on one of the gauge installs???

You have to have a scan tool to hook to the connector under the dash to get a PCM code.
Well, I work for a ford dealership, so I don't need to get a scan tool, the only problem was this happened on the weekend, no key to the shop, and that light on drove me nuts. But...I found the problem. While I was putting on my pulley, I say me EGR vacuum line was pressed against the EGR tube, and melted a hole in it, cause a vacuum leak while the EGR was to be activated, and no EGR function. The lights off now, and it feels good!

. I hate it.
