Throttle Body

I recently purchased a single blade throttle body, and have not had an opportunity to install it until this weekend. I would like to do it tomorrow, but have a few questions. What is necessary? I have an 01. I see there are "covers" on the screws, are they re-used? Do I need something else to hold the screw? Or is it fine without. Other than adjusting the throttle screw, what else might need to be adjusted?

You'll probably have to adjust the TPS sensor. I recently installed one on my '01, took less than 30 minutes with the TPS adjustment. All you need is common tools and a voltmeter. Good luck.

Don't assume you'll have to adjust anything. I've installed two different makes and did not have to touch the screw or the TPS.

Just remove the OEM one. Install the new one using the OEM gasket. Hook the cable back on and start it up. My two idled fine with no adjustments.

Dan- Did your new one come with the TPS already in it? Then I could see you not adjusting it. But when you remove the old one to put it in the new T.B. it could go from 7.2 up to 9.6 volts.I stuck a pin in the middle and bottom wire of the tps and set it to the highest adjustment. I don't know if it would have run worst had I just poped it in, but I know on my mustang, it had better throttle response when set at above 9 volts.Just my 99 cents.

Thank you for that link. Very informative, right to the point, sounds like I shouldnt have any problem with it. I will let everyone know how it turns out.

If you set your tps above 9 volts at idle your L would not run. That 7.2 to 9.6 number is funky also. I think(hope) you just got your decimal point off.. You want to be at .95 or so... At WOT it should be above 4.5 volts...

Uh... Ya! My bad. Definately missplaced the decimal point.I meant 900 volts! BTW the range of volts (in TPS movement ) on my tps, did fluctuate in that range. And that is normal.I've set many a TPS on lots of Fords and they can go anywhere from .7 to 1.2 volts (did I nail it that time)
