Question Transmission shaft question

Does the little middle shaft just slide out of the tranny? It slid out some when I was removing the torque converter from the shaft. I wanted to make sure it was supposed to move before I put it back together. Thanks

It can come out, just spin it and make sure it's fully engaged back in. Also just a tip for installing the converter. There should be 3 engagements into the trans. That small input shaft engaging into the converter, the larger splined front pump shaft engaging the converter, and the converter snout engaging the front pump rotor. If you don't get the front pump rotor engagement you'll have no fluid movement.

Be sure to pre-fill the converter before installing.
